Welcome to the Reichwald home remodel, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
This project was a remodel of most of this mid century home’s interior and exterior spaces. Our team of professionals made over the main living areas of the home with new flooring, updated the original master suite, revamped the exterior and built a brand new master suite with just a bit of a Scandinavian, minimalist flavor.

The exterior of the home was previously brick. The customer requested the brick be painted and a bit of an industrial look in the back of the home. Our team installed corrugated steel siding on the back and painted the original brick on the front side where Tigerwood was used as an accent along with a mahogany front door the customer ordered. Tigerwood is an exotic hardwood known for its beauty and durability. It is often used for siding and decking for this very reason. It does need to be properly maintained by applying oil twice a year. Our pros also replaced the old shingled roof with a durable, low maintenance, steel roof.
A portion in the rear of this home was an open carport which our team transformed into an enchanting master bedroom that overlooks the backyard through beautiful floor to ceiling windows on two sides.
The aluminum frame carport with Tigerwood walls, white pine beam rafters and steel roof was requested by the customer as an additional parking area.
The front entryway features a mahogany door with a modern design and new cork flooring which continues throughout the main living area of the home.
Our pros repainted the original master suite which still boasts bona fide antique parquet flooring, which we cleaned and oiled to bring it back to life. The master ensuite was gutted and remodeled by our team. The unique “floating” vanity was custom made by our very own Al Foreman, using teak.
The new master suite has a gorgeous view of the patio and backyard. There are hidden curtains that come down from the framework at the top of those floor to ceiling windows. Our team also installed radiant heat flooring at the customer’s request. The ceiling is tongue and groove pine and features recessed LED lighting. The vertical posts that frame the windows are white pine out of Tennessee.
To the left of the master bedroom is a window-lined hallway leading to the outside spaces, a master bath, laundry room and then into the kitchen. The master suite features several custom made cabinetry pieces by Al, including another “floating” maple vanity and wardrobe with leather handles.
Near the end of this job, as we were finishing up the patio and concrete drive, the customer was offered an out-of-state position. The home owner never got to put it on the market, though, since a neighbor purchased it before they had the chance!
